Thinking a noon Hangout.
We’ll be at The Corner Bakery, 1701 JFK Blvd, Philadelphia, PA
We plan to discuss how this group might best serve the KMer community in and around Philadelphia.
Three in attendance: Seth Horwitz, Chris Joannessen, and Joe Raimondo.
We had a wide-ranging discussion of in-person community groups. Each of has been party of numerous networking, professional, and local community organizing efforts. Each of has a technical portfolio. We recognize the impact of “social” on what we consider Knowledge Management.
We agreed there is a demographic component that has impacted KMG’s ability to re-form. We also agreed that the loss of academic sponsorship has been a factor in the group’s lack of traction over the past few years.
We agreed to plant a flag: A regular group meeting each 4th Friday of the month. For now it’s at the Corner Bakery, as that’s convenient to the 3 of us., at present. All possible forms for KMG to emerge are on the table — if you have something you want to present, let us know.
We’ll meet at the Corner Bakery at 17th & JFK. We’ll discuss the future of KM and local communities.
Hope to see you there.
We are working with Stan Garfield and SIKM Leaders network to guide this process. We propose a Friday morning meeting, at the old hours (7:45 to 9:45) for an agenda development meeting. The idea would be to keep that Friday (4th Friday, which would be 9/27) and continue with it. At present the two of us who are guiding this (Seth Horwitz and Joe Raimondo) work in Center City, so we want to meet downtown. For now. The timing and agenda are totally plastic.
This is the new site for the Knowledge Management group of Philadelphia. We can use it as a group blog and a way to extend the community by experimenting with tools and sharing resoruces.
